Project Description
We partner with communities to bring water closer to homes, schools, etc, through boreholes, rainwater harvesting, hygiene education, and dignity kits so that access to WASH services becomes a right and not a burden. One in ten people around the world still lack access to clean and safe water. But in many rural areas like mine, people aren’t even striving for clean water; they’re just trying to find any water because of the scarcity of this fundamental resource. In most of our communities, women and girls walk long distances every day to fetch water, often from rivers, ponds, or unsafe sources. This doesn’t just affect their health, but also their safety, time, and ability to go to school or earn a living. The lack of proper sanitation and hygiene facilities also leads to major health risks, especially for children and women.
Our Approach
Provision of Rainwater Harvesting & Storage Structures: We are committed to installing water tanks and roof catchment systems in schools and households.
🕳 Borehole Drilling: In hard-hit areas, we are committed to supporting borehole drilling to access groundwater for safe use.
💧 Direct Water Purchases: In emergencies or during droughts, we deliver water directly to affected families and schools.
🩸 Menstrual Health & Dignity Packs: We provide menstrual products and hygiene kits to school-going girls and women, ensuring dignity and fewer school dropouts.
WASH Education: We train communities and students on hygiene, handwashing, and water safety to encourage healthy practices. We also educate our communities on the importance of considering roofing styles that allow for water harvesting.
